Question Number: 12496Law 3 - Number of Players 4/6/2006RE: REC Under 9 Ron Koch of Sioux City, IA USA asks...From - Technical Area One Person at a time is authorised to convey tactical insturtions and he must return to his position after giving these instructions
This would seem to indicate a player moving over towards the touchline and NOT a Coach, Assistant Coach, Team Mgr., etc. leaving the technical area.... Is this a proper take on things? If so, it would be so much easier to understand if it stated "One Player at a time...." Answer provided by Referee Keith Contarino Players are on the field of play. Substitutes and team officials are in the technical area. Subs should stay on the bench until they move to the center line to be subbed in. Coaches and other team officials should stay within the confines of the technical area although at U9 few fields have one delineated. Only one team official at a time is to give tactical advice. Subs may not act as coaches or other team officials.
