Question Number: 13486Kicks From The Penalty mark 8/14/2006RE: three Adult John Baltutis of Belleville, Ontario Canada asks...When taking penalty kicks to determine a winner. The ball is kicked, hits the cross bar and comes straight down and hits the back of the goalkeeper who is still on the goal line and into the net,is it a goal. Same scenario. But the keeper has now moved off of the goal line when the kick is taken and ball bounces off the cross bar and hits the keeper in the back and then into the net is it a goal. Only difference is that the keeper has moved off the goal line after the kick was taken. Answer provided by Referee Chuck Fleischer In both cases a goal is scored. Law 14:

When a penalty kick is taken during the normal course of play, or time has been extended at half-time or full time to allow a penalty kick to be taken or retaken, a goal is awarded if, before passing between the goalposts and under the crossbar:
