View Referee Gartenhaus profileAnswer provided by Referee Stacy Kalstrom Human error will always be with us, as we are humans. The errors occur in playing and coaching so we must also expect it in refereeing. This is one of the beauties of this sport, (the players) must learn to play within the parameters set by each referee and must accept their foibles. What better life teacher. A small slice of everyday life is dealing with human error, disapointment and "that's not fair". If we can learn from our great game to move beyond those feelings and emotions we will become better adults and contributing members of society...The technology exists for electronic offside calls, but FIFA has elected to not use this and keep the human element errors and all...Thanks for your question.
