Question Number: 6139

League Specific

RE: 5 Adult

Steve Carter of Harleston, England asks...

Does moving the ball forward 9.15m only apply to the premier league or also to the FA Cup..As I thought it was only the premier league that the trial was taking place but the referee moved the ball forward in this years FA cup final

Answer provided by Referee Chuck Fleischer

Steve your thoughts mirror mine on this subject. Given that, in the FA Cup Final the referee used the test item and made his point. Whether it was correct or not??!..Regards,

Answer provided by Referee Gary Sebalja

didn't see it but from what you mention it was maybe a Premier league offical who acted on reflex and realised after he had started moving am I suppossed to do this. Like him I would not have corrected the call and look like an idiot, once you make that decision you should stick with it.
