RE: modified -7-8thgrade High School

Mark of , asks...

In a recent game my daughter kicked a 25 yard kick on goal just prior to the referee blowing the half time whistle. Apparently the ball was kicked before the whistle but did not enter the goal until after the whistle for halftime. In 7th- 8th grade modified HS soccer, is it a goal or not?

Answer provided by Referee Chuck Fleischer

When the whistle blows play has stopped, no goal. Tough luck. The referee is inexperienced and unaware of what's going on...Regards,

Answer provided by Referee Ref

It is not basketball, the play was over when the referee decided to stop play. Time, albeit relative is rarely to the micro second. Generally a referee can look for a less controversial moment to end on. Those are the breaks should have shot sooner. ;o).Cheers

Answer provided by Referee Gary Sebalja

you have to score before time is up. A lot of people in this situation forget that other team have done their job and they would be cheated if the goal was scored. If you are to late you are to late.
