Question Number: 18800

Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct 4/16/2008

RE: AYSO Under 13

Jack of Santa Ana, CA USA asks...

This question is a follow up to question 18791

I believe Referee Gary Voshol means attacker in his answer where he says "defender"??? There would only be a PK if the Goalie/Keeper pushed an offensive player at a Corner Kick. However, if I saw a Goal Keeper push his own player, I'd have a strong word with him and possibly Yellow for USB if he had a history of previous UB in the game. Pros please comment and thanks so much for your insight.

Answer provided by Referee Chuck Fleischer

It would seem the editor is getting complacent this day after taxes came due... Are there pills I can take for this malady. Thanks.

If I saw the keeper push his team mate I'd have to think back to all my team mates who got in my way when I was trying to get to the ball. They were happy to see a saved goal from wherever they hit the ground. They knew being launched someplace else was necessary because there wasn't time to beg their pardon.

Regards,

I strongly disagree with your wanting to caution a keeper for pushing his teammate. How is that USB?

Answer provided by Referee Richard Dawson

While ref Voshol will no doubt correct that reversion revision ONLY if a keeper pushed his own team mate in a MEAN spirited manner as to hurt him deliberately for VC could there be a need to see this as anything but MOVE ! you are blocking me from getting to the ball!
Cheers
