During the shootout, the goalkeeper was penalized for triping the shooter, A penalty kick was awarded. Can a penalty kick be awarded during a shootout? Answer provided by Referee Keith Contarino How could the keeper trip the shooter during the taking of kicks from the penalty mark? The shot is over once the keeper saves it, the shot is missed and goes out of bounds, or it goes in the net. I can't see how this could possibly happen.
