RE: pro Professional

vahid molaei of Rasht, Gilan IRAN asks...

dear sir
i am vahid molaei from iran. my questions is about futsal rules :
1- if a team doesn't have goalkeeper before starting the game. what is the referee 's permission?
2-do the goal posts should be circle and shouldn't be dangerous?

Answer provided by Referee Ben Mueller

1. Someone must wear the funny looking shirt. That player can run around field wherever they want. 2. The goal posts can be any size or shape as long as they are not dangerous. Also, the length and width of cross bar and goal posts must be same.

Answer provided by Referee Richard Dawson

Hi Vahid,
it is manditory someone have the keeper position covered by wearing the distinctly different shirt. Whether or not he decides to play as a roving defender is his choice no team can play without a DESIGNATED keeper! If the team is waiting for the real keeper to show up some other teammate simply fills in until he shows then subs at the first available opportunity. Failure to take to the floor at the agreed starting time may result in sanctions or forfiet depending on league policy!
TheThe goalposts and the crossbar shall have the same width and depth of 8 cm. They can be square, round or elipitical provided they are not dangerous. They require nets and there are minimum standards of depth and width burt importantly for portable goals MUST be securly fastened in a SAFE manner! Cheers
