i would like to know who qualifies to the next stage,based on the away goals rule should barcelona beat liverpool 0-1 in anfield,having lost 1-2 at home.
thanks. Answer provided by Referee Gary Voshol After Law 17 there is a section in the Laws book on determining the winner of a match, which includes:
"Away Goals
Competition rules may provide that where teams play each other home and away, if the scores are equal after the second match, any goals scored at the ground of the opposing team will count double."
Since the aggregate is 2-2, we look at which team scored goals away. By your account, Barcelona scored 1 goal away from home, and Liverpool 2. Thus Liverpool advances 4-3.
