Answer provided by Referee Chuck Fleischer Ancient Chinese played a game called Tsu Chu [kick ball] where a ball was kicked around an arena with two 30 ft-high bamboo poles acting as goals [around 200 BC].
The Greeks played "pheninda" as early as 4 BC with the feet
Aztecs used a soccer type game to entertain and build skills.
Modern football [soccer] began in England in the 1840 - 50?s.
