Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct 3/11/2007

Patrick Pijls of Northville, Michigan United States asks...

The recent changes to Law 12 clarify that a substitute or substituted player may be cautioned only for the three listed infractions. Why is this so? Can not a substitute or substituted player be cautioned for entering the field of play without the permission of the referee?

A substitute or substituted player entering without permission is unsporting. He is cautioned for that.

That would fall under unsporting. These 3 reasons are for your game write up/report. Many things would fall under unsporting.
