Question Number: 15000Other 3/18/2007RE: Adult Donna levin of Leicester, Leicestershire England asks...Has a referee ever scored a goal in a match and if so was it ever allowed? Answer provided by Referee Chuck Fleischer Four or Five years ago a referee on a lopsided second division match in Britain deliberately volleyed a keeper's clearance back into the open net. The goal stood. Defenders were overheard saying "nice shot Ref". The FA took a dim view of this and suspended the referee.

View Referee Chuck Fleischer profileAnswer provided by Referee Ben Mueller While instructing a recertification course in Green Bay, WI, a student told me that he witnessed a referee head the ball in for a team during a corner kick. This game was also a lopsided game.
