Question Number: 15166League Specific 4/13/2007Gary Edbrooke of Granby, CT US asks...This question is a follow up to question 15156 Reply to Ref Fleischer.
Is it not still a caution/yellow card for USB even if the GK does not handle the ball? I thought the USB was for the trickery which still exists whether or not the GK handles the ball.
Answer provided by Referee Richard Dawson Hi Gary, While I am sure Ref Fleischer will respond please note he states the exception not the rule! FIFA states it as you say! Cheers

View Referee Richard Dawson profileAnswer provided by Referee Chuck Fleischer From the US High School Rules as published by NFHS: Rule 12 Sect 7 Art. 4, Note: Players may not use trickery to circumvent Articles 3 and 4. Example: Players may not flick the ball with their feet to their own head, chest, knee and then pass to their own goalkeeper who touches it with the hands.
The penalty is Indirect free kick awarded to the opponent at the spot of the violation, unless in the goal area. There is no caution...
Correction made, thanks.
Regards,
