Question Number: 15196Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct 4/16/2007RE: Competive High School El Gato of Buffalo, NY USA asks...im a keeper and one time on a drop kick i steped on the edge of the penalty box. the ref called it a hand ball. i thought your foot had to be ALL the way across the line. Answer provided by Referee Chuck Fleischer I see you've changed your name for the fourth time. You don't mention where the ball is and that is the determining factor. Ball in your penalty area you can use your hands for 6 seconds. Ball outside your penalty area and you can't use your hands.
