Question Number: 15322Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct 4/30/2007RE: rec Adult brian of mckinleyville, ca usa asks...can a defensive player trap or corral the ball with their thigh for the goalkeeper. not a pass, but controlling and setteling the ball for the keeper Answer provided by Referee Gary Voshol Certainly. Law 12 says the goalkeeper cannot handle the ball after it has been kicked to him by a teammate. No foot, no kick, no infraction, it's as simple as that.

View Referee Gary Voshol profileAnswer provided by Referee Ben Mueller If it goes from foot to thigh to keeper, then it would be unsporting and a caution for the player. If the ball came to the attackers thigh and he passed it with thigh to keeper, then it is ok.
