Question Number: 15391Law 3 - Number of Players 5/5/2007RE: Rec Under 15 Brian of Baltimore, MD Baltimore asks...What if Team A is awarded a throw in and before the throw in the center ref. notices there are 12 players on the field for Team A. the coach removes a player, and the ref. cautioned the player that left the field. What is the restart since the ball was out of bounds and not in play and was a throw in? Answer provided by Referee Chuck Fleischer Here the stoppage was for the ball crossing a touchline having last been touched by team B. That stoppage determined the restart of play NOT the fact 12 players were present for team A. Throw-in B.
