Differentate between a direct and an indirect free Kick?

Direct kick can be kicked into goal. Indirect must touch a player before going in.

A goal can be scored directly on a direct free kick, without touching any other player. On an indirect kick, the ball must touch another player before the goal will count. That player could be from either team, including the goalkeeper who is a player.

Another differentiation is direct free kicks may only be awarded for a violation of Law 12 during play, on the field and against an opponent. Indirect free kicks can be given for violations of Law 12 as well as Laws 8, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17.
