Question Number: 15730Law 14 - Penalty kick 6/8/2007RE: class 1 Under 15 javier renteria of merced, ca us asks...Pk my question is this my player is awarded a pk, he take the pk the goalie stop the ball with his hand the ball bounce back to my kicker and he kick the ball the second time and make it into the net. is that a goal or not? Answer provided by Referee Gary Voshol If this is a penalty kick awarded during normal playing time, it's a goal. The kicker may not touch the ball a second time until it is touched by another player. The goalkeeper is a player, the goal is not.
If this was a kick that was being taken during Kicks From The Penalty Mark to determine a winner, or if the time had expired and the half is being extended for taking the penalty kick, different rules apply. In those cases, the kicker is only permitted to touch the ball once. When all the energy imparted by that one kick has dissapated, then the kick is over.
