Question Number: 15814Law 3 - Number of Players 6/17/2007RE: rec Under 11 Suv of Churchland, NC USA asks...By USSF/FIFA rules, when can you sub? I can't fine the ans in the 2006/2007 FIFA / USSF laws of the game book that I have. Or I am just over looking it each time. Could you also give me the page #. Thanks, for all the work you guys put in this. Suv Answer provided by Referee Ben Mueller At any stoppage or as set by the league. In international matches, they can sub at any stoppage, but there is a set limit during game. Also, a player subbed out CANNOT reenter game. In youth matches, it is set by league or state organization. Usually there is unlimited substitution as well.

[quote] To replace a player by a substitute, the following conditions must be observed: * the referee is informed before any proposed substitution is made * a substitute only enters the field of play after the player being replaced has left and after receiving a signal from the referee * a substitute only enters the field of play at the halfway line and during a stoppage in the match * a substitution is completed when a substitute enters the field of play * from that moment, the substitute becomes a player and the player he has replaced ceases to be a player * a player who has been replaced takes no further part in the match * all substitutes are subject to the authority and jurisdiction of the referee, whether called upon to play or not
