Question Number: 15893League Specific 6/26/2007RE: Competitve College Natalie of Richmond, VA USA asks...I'm starting a local adult soccer league using one ref per game. What are the advantages / disadvantages of having a set rule of "no offsides" in a league with games of 7 vs 7? Answer provided by Referee Richard Dawson Hi Natilie often the fun of playing rec soccer is the energy we get from a good work out. In 7 versus 7 matches are often short timed short fields offside just cuts into the play time. I often have running subs in such leagues where the player only need tag the hand of the sub AT centre to switch in and out. Play! PLay! PLAY!
We do have a seagull rule though no waiting in the PA in front of the keeper if the ball is in your end ! Cheers
