Question Number: 15949Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct 7/5/2007RE: Under 15 Kyle Kenney of Ontario, Canada asks...you know all the INDFK calls for goalie's disobeying the rules?
Like.. if a goalie plays the ball with his hands after it has been passes to him by his own player.. Where is the INDFK located? Inside the box? Outside the box where the goalie was located? Answer provided by Referee Gary Voshol All free kicks are taken from the spot of the infraction that was called, with these exceptions: * A penalty kick is taken from the penalty spot * An outbound free kick for an offense that happens in the goal area can be placed anywhere in the goal area * An inbound indirect free kick for an offense that happened in the goal area is taken from the spot on the 6-yard line nearest the site of the infraction.
Again, all of this is stuff that should have been covered in your referee training classes. Either you got shortchanged by the instructor, or you weren't paying enough attention.

You really need to resit your qualification if you are in fact a referee.

These four restrictions for illegal handling are. 6 seconds of possession, a retouch of the ball after control of 6 seconds, a deliberate kick by a team mate to the keeper or a direct throw in by a team mate
All indfk offences occur from the spot of the incident OR in some cases from where the ball is when play is stopped. If you read law 8 it states that no indfk in favor of the attackers can occur closer than 6 yards. That is because on ANY indfk offence in favor of an opponent that occurs there the ball is always placed straight back 6 yards from goal. It is referred to as the special circumstances of law 8 to the taking of indfk inside the GOAL area the 6 yard area which as you know is inside the 18 yard penalty area.
Cheers
