Question Number: 16143League Specific 7/27/2007RE: Competive Adult Earl Hicks of Newcastle, NSW Australia asks...I was recently suspended automatically for 1 match after receiving 2 yellow cards in one match and then a resulting red card, approximately five weeks later (last week) i recieved another yellow card. I have now been informed that i will serve another automatic 1 match suspension for the accumulation of 3 yellow cards in a reguar season. My question is, how is it that i can be punished twice for the same yellow cards, seing that ive allready been suspended for the first 2 yellows. My thoughts were that once suspended yellow card counts and the like were reset??? any info would be great mabey a link to a rule book of sorts for Australian football or NSW Football Answer provided by Referee Ben Mueller This is up to the league. It is different in different leagues. Apparently this is a policy. Referees just referee the matches and report the facts connected with play.

If this is something your league needs to address perhaps our answers may prevent it happening again.
