Question Number: 16359Law 11 - Offside 8/19/2007RE: Adult Rabbi of Barisal, Bangladesh asks...Offside possible when free kick taken? Answer provided by Referee Gary Voshol Offside applies during the taking of free kicks. It does not apply when the ball is received directly from a throw-in, goal kick or corner kick. It is impossible to be in an offside position at a penalty kick or kickoff, if the player is in a legal spot for the kick.
