Question Number: 16388League Specific 8/21/2007RE: High School John Cardoza of Madrid, NY USA asks...When a player is removed for illegal equipment when may he return? Answer provided by Referee Gary Voshol After he has corrected his equipment and the referee signals that he may enter.
Depending on what had to be corrected, the referee may need to wait for a stoppage in play to inspect the player.
The above applies to FIFA; I don't know if NFHS revises the procedure.

View Referee Gary Voshol profileAnswer provided by Referee Chuck Fleischer In all cases the player must wait until a stoppage and be inspected by the referee. Except, as Ref Voshol states, in a match conducted under the Laws of the Game.
If the referee has delegated authority to inspect and verify a correction the player may re-enter from a touchline, during play, after seeking permission to do so from the referee. If the player wishes to enter from a goal line he must wait for a stoppage in play.
Regards,
