Question Number: 16762Law 17 - Corner Kick 9/18/2007RE: Competitive Professional Bruno Pereira of Caniao, Madeira Portugal asks...Does anyone knows the evolution of the rules about the corner-kick since it appeared first time in 1872? I'm doing a master thesis about this matter and I have no idea were to find. Please help me about the history of the corner kick and were to find it! Answer provided by Referee MrRef One can look at the minutes of the International FA Board to see the thinking involved. They were hand written then and are sometimes difficult to read. Remember that before 1913 there was no second touch prohibition at the taking of a corner. Remember also the addition of corner flag posts did necessitate a change in the field markings. Remember, too, prior to 1886 there was no IFAB and the FA cared for the Laws.
