RE: rec Under 14

Zac Ash of Ledyard, Connecticut United States asks...

how do you kick a goal kick farther

Answer provided by Referee Gary Voshol

It is like any other kick regarding how you best strike the ball to get distance and accuracy. You should ask your coach about that.

One tip, on fields that are always in the same place, the corner of the goal area often gets to be low because the ball is always placed there. You will be able to get much better distance if you place the ball slightly away from the corner. Remember, the ball may be placed anywhere inside the goal area - it does not have to be right on the line or right on the corner. If mioving it a few inches gives you a better lie of the ball, you may get better distance on the kick.

This is a coaches question and not a referees. I guess make sure to place ball on the top of goal area and kick it hard.
