Question Number: 16957Law 11 - Offside 9/28/2007Al Dugan of Ocean City , NJ USA asks...This question is a follow up to question 16918 Chuck....
Do you need to re-read this question concerning a ball played back by a defender intercepted by a attacker in an offside position? I can't tell from your answer what your actual response is? The other two respondents actually answered the question. You seemed to dance around it. I thought it was very clear what the questioner asked, and you seemed to make a mess of it. A ball played back by a defender (implied control) intercepted by a player in an offside position is NOT offside.
R Answer provided by Referee Chuck Fleischer I mixed up my opponents and my "A's". Just who was an opponent of whom was lost in the shuffle.
We all go into rectal defilade at one time or another; usually the view from there is fine especially since I had the Plexiglas window installed in my stomach. Guess it needs washing again. I'll see to that mo'directly. Correction inserted. Thanks for the catch.
Regards,
