Question Number: 16991Law 11 - Offside 9/30/2007RE: other Under 14 t of oneonta, ny usa asks...if your off sides and the defence goes to kick the ball to there golie for some incredably insane reason,but the ball gets to you instead are you off sides? Answer provided by Referee Gary Voshol Offside is considered at the time your teammate last plays or touches the ball.
If an opponent makes a deliberate play on the ball, having control, there is no offside consideration for you.
Note, "offside", one word without the final 's'.

View Referee Chuck Fleischer profileAnswer provided by Referee Richard Dawson Remember it is NOT an offence to be in an offside position when you are recieving the ball last touched and controlled by your opponent. How did that ball arrive? It was a controlled possession albeit a mistake from your opponents. It is a gift wrapped ball, which after you score remember to thank the opposition be they insane or not! Cheers
