Question Number: 17641Law 4 - Players Equipment 11/3/2007RE: travel Under 11 Nick of Audubon, pa usa asks...We were the home team. The visiting showed up with almost identical shirts as us, dark blue. We decied to have our players go home and get our away white jersey so we could play the game. Is it not the responsbility of the away team to wear the white color or to at least find out from the home team what color shirts we had?
Thanks
Answer provided by Referee Keith Contarino I don't know what the rules are in Pa but here in Georgia it is the responsibility of the HOME team to change shirts

That way if there is a color conflict, you will be able to resolve it, even if it the rules don't require your team to do so. Wouldn't changing shirts and playing the game be preferable to sending everyone home?

The home side should have the extra jersey easily at hand. A simple phone call will sort out colors before the traveling is done. Of course some people have to engage in gamesmanship in this area as well, pity that.
