Question Number: 18769Law 13 - Free Kicks 4/12/2008RE: Under 17 Steven of Sydney, NSW Australia asks...What happens if a indirect free kick goes straight out? Answer provided by Referee Steve Montanino Fire and Brimstone fall from the skies, rivers and seas boil, the dead rise from the grave, and the referee awards whatever restart is commensurate with the ball going out of play, in order words whatever would normally happen from a ball kicked out of play.

If it goes directly into touch when kicked the opposing team will get a throw in or a goal kick or a corner kick depending on which end of the field we are on as the kicking team last touched he ball before it went out of play. Remember on a free kick the ball is in play when it is kicked and moves. Cheers
