When the defensive team has set-up a wall, is it permissable to jump up and down or is this a form of USB?

Permissable. It is also permissable to do this on a throw in provided you are two meters from the thrower or a corner kick provided you are 11 yards from the touch line.

It would seem OK so long as the player was at least 10 yards away from the ball at all times prior to the kick.
