Question Number: 20700Law 13 - Free Kicks 12/28/2008RE: Adult jesse of mombasa, coast kenya asks...what is a direct kick and indirect kick,when is the direct and indirect kick occur Answer provided by Referee Gary Voshol Law 12 defines 10 direct free kick offenses and 8 indirect free kick offenses. Other indirect offenses are scattered throughout the Laws, for example offside.
The difference between the two is that a goal may not be scored on an indirect free kick until it touches another player. That player may be from either team.
