Question Number: 21549Law 7 - Match Duration 6/16/2009RE: fa coach Under 9 Russ Ralph of gloucester, uk asks...In a recent game i watched a perfectly good honest goal was scored - after the conciding team got the ball out of the net - the referee blew his whistle for half time. Thus he did not let the conciding team restart the game.. In the rules of the game should the kick off be taken for the goal to stand ?? Answer provided by Referee Dennis Wickham A goal is allowed if it was scored before the referee determined that the half had ended (whether or not there is time for a kick off). A penalty kick must be completed if awarded before the half/match ends. But, otherwise, the half can end with the ball out of play.

The goal counts if it was scored before the referee decided time had expired. The referee ends the game whenever he decides that all time has expired. This can literally be during any occurrence.
