RE: Competive Under 16

Steve Betsas of sydney, NSW Australia asks...

If a 15yr old gets injured on the field and can not be move in the 17th min of the second half of a game he is down for approx 10min Ambulance have been called the ref blows full time at the 29th min please keep in mind that there is no injury time keept by refs is full time at the time that the ref blew fulltime in the 29thmin of the second half or at the time the kid got hurt in the 17th min of the second half also the team with the injured kid was leading 1 - 0 at the time

Answer provided by Referee Dennis Wickham

The rules of competition will provide the answer to what happens if a match cannot be completed in normal course because of such an injury. Each league/tournament may differ.

The laws of the game provide that the referee shall add time for injuries (and the referee is the sole judge of how much time should be added.) Leagues and tournaments often have schedules with back to back matches that do not permit the luxury of added time.
