Law 7 - Match Duration 4/8/2011

alicia of hutto, texas u.s asks...

I wanted to know how long the halves are for the ages u11,u12 and u13. For example I know the halves for u16 are 40 minutes long and I wanted to know the time for those three age groups and any more if you're willing to share

this will depend on either the North or South Texas Youth Soccer Association.

I would guess U11 and U12 are 30 minute halves and U13 35 minutes

While leagues can vary the times, it is common to increase the time by five minutes per half at the even age numbers:

u7/8 20
u9/10 25
u11/12 30
u13/14 35
u15/16 40
above u16 45

Match duration is set in the competition rules by the competition authority. My colleagues have outlined the standard times.
