RE: semi-pro Adult

savulescu benone of pitesti, arges romania asks...

If a player changes places with the goalkeeper without the referee?s permission before the change is made and the referee stop the game to cautioned the players, how the play will be restarted ?

Answer provided by Referee Stacy Kalstrom

Law 3 tells us about how to deal with this situation. It says that "If a player changes places with the goalkeeper without the referee's permission before the change is made:.play continues and the players concerned are cautioned and shown the yellow card when the ball is next out of play."..Thank you for visiting our site, please come again.

Answer provided by Referee Victor Matheson

Ms. Kalstrom is correct that the referee should not stop play. He should wait until a stoppage and then caution the players. If he did stop the play, the ball would be started with an IFK for the opposing team at the spot where ball was when the play was stopped. (At least this would be a reasonable answer based on similar situations that occur in soccer.)
