View Referee Stacy Kalstrom profileAnswer provided by Referee Victor Matheson Ms. Kalstrom is correct that the referee should not stop play. He should wait until a stoppage and then caution the players. If he did stop the play, the ball would be started with an IFK for the opposing team at the spot where ball was when the play was stopped. (At least this would be a reasonable answer based on similar situations that occur in soccer.)
