RE: high school Under 15

Brittany Butlet of arlington, texas usa asks...

I'm a reporter in high school and in preparation for an intrview i would like o know : are there positions in soccer? If so what are they? Thanks so much!!

Answer provided by Referee Richard Dawson

From a referee perspective at the elite levels we are a foursome !
1 centre referee in charge of the match
2 assistant referees and a
single 4th official in charge of the technical area
You really should read a few manuals and look up on the internet some basic concepts. We are a volunteer group of referees who share our experiance and knowledge of interpreting the laws of the game. We are only too glad to explain those concepts however, your preperation for interviews though best be done with a few sit downs at the library. Cheers
