Question Number: 13105Law 18 - Common Sense 6/20/2006RE: Under 12 Robert of Hagerstown, Maryland USA asks...May a player intentionally head the ball to his/her own keeper? Answer provided by Referee Chuck Fleischer Absolutely, so long as he does not use some kind trick to get the ball to his head. If the referee has the opinion he does that he must caution the player and show him the yellow card for unsporting behavior.

View Referee Chuck Fleischer profileAnswer provided by Referee Ben Mueller Yes. The keeper may not handle the ball if it is deliberatly kicked to him/her by a teammate. The ball must be kicked meaning that it must come off of his/her teammates foot. Heading the ball is ok provided the player heading it is not trying to cirumvent this part of the law.

View Referee Ben Mueller profileAnswer provided by Referee Keith Contarino Absolutely. The keeper may not handle a ball kicked deliberately by a teammate with the foot. Any other part of the body is ok ( other than hands/arms, of course).
