how long is the goal in soccer?

A football goal, as defined in Law 1, is 8 yards wide, 8 feet in height and not more than five inches in depth. The nets attached to the goals are not part of them nor is the area they contain part of the field of play, they are there to capture the ball and reduce speculation as to whether a goal has or has not been scored.
