Question Number: 13451Law 1- The Field 8/7/2006RE: Competitve High School Scott of Oakville, Ontario Canada asks...I was reading through the 2005 laws of the game Q & A and noticed that If a Player draws unauthorized marks on the field he should be cautioned for USB. I'm a referee, bu I also play Goal Keeper for a Competitive team and I usually draw a little mark with my foot in the centre of the goal area so I can tell that I'm in the middle of the net and not out of position easily. My question is could I actually be cautioned for this?
Cheers, Scott Answer provided by Referee Chuck Fleischer Absolutely can Scott, pretty petty caution for you to ask for, too. I can think of other more serious things to get a caution for...
Grounds keepers appreciate this caution more than opponents and if you think about it, with the goal right behind you and one at the other end. One who could not find the centre would be like a rock lying on the ground. Just turn around and look, do not mark the ground.
You might want to get a copy of Q&A 2006...
