Question Number: 13681Mechanics 9/6/2006RE: Competitive Under 16 Allan Haycock of Nibley, UT USA asks...How does the fourth official signal the center referee? Does he use hand signals, a whistle or flag? Answer provided by Referee Chuck Fleischer The fourth official speaks to the assistant nearest or if the referee looks to him he just motions him over to speak. Usually there is no need to speak with the match referee unless either manager or team official needs to leave the technical area and vicinity of the field.
