Question Number: 13978Kicks From The Penalty mark 9/30/2006RE: Under 14 franco of Bloomington, IN USA asks...DFK fouls in the opponents penalty area and committed by the opponent is a penalty kick (PK), a free kick awarded from a penalty.
What do you call kicks taken from the penalty mark at end of game to determine a winner? They don't seem to be penalty kicks since they are not being awarded for a penalty from a foul, but they are from the penalty mark.
I hear them referred to as PKs, but I usually say kicks from a shootout. What is correct?
How do you report the score?
Franco Answer provided by Referee Richard Dawson Franco if you would read the laws PROCEDURES TO DETERMINE THE WINNER OF A MATCH OR HOME-AND-AWAY they are referred to as Kicks from the penalty mark! Score? Just follow the procedures record the 5 versus 5 and subsequent shot for shot additional attempts if required. this is a procedure to determine a winner. On a scoring sheet you record it as a tie /shootout victory Cheers
