Question Number: 14094Law 14 - Penalty kick 10/10/2006RE: High School leauge Under 16 David Perez of Hoffman Estates, Illinois United States asks...Hello, I am a high school player and I play under the IHSA soccer rules. I had a penalty kick to take and as soon as the referee blew the whistle the keeper rushed in and grabbed the ball. Is that legal? Should the refereee had told me?? Help please
DP Answer provided by Referee Keith Contarino IHSA has some weird rules but I doubt the rules about a PK are much different. The keeper must stay on his line until the ball is kicked. Unless, of course, high school rules are different.
