Can the goalkeeper dribble the ball into the area and then pick it up? The ball was sent downfield by the opposing team the ball was to the right of the penalty area the goalie went outside the penalty area dribbled the ball with his feet into the penalty area and picked it up with his hands. what is the appropriate call is it an idfk or is it allowed.

Yes. This is ok provided the keeper did not receive the ball from a pass kicked deliberatly to him by a teammate.

Given the circumstances mentioned, the goalkeeper using his hands for six seconds inside his penalty area is permitted.

As you describe the action, this is perfectly legal. If the ball had been deliberately kicked by a teammate or throwin by a teammate to that area, the keeper could not legally handle the ball even inside his own penalty area.

In the circumstances you mentioned this is acceptable play from the goalkeeper.

As Referee Contario correctly states - under different conditions this action may constitute an infringement of the Laws of the Game.
