Question Number: 14796Law 18 - Common Sense 2/5/2007RE: Select High School Chasbo of Elk Grove, CA USA asks...This question is a follow up to question 14767 The play in question [14767] was viewed through the eyes of a coach. It was called correctly & would be called as such by 99% of referees. The defender turned with her hands away from her body at a 45 degree angle. The shot was on the mark & would have necessitated a play by the keeper. Answer provided by Referee Richard Dawson Chasbo, correctly? so what was the call ? Was it seen by the defending coach or as the attacking coach? I agree with my colleague the descripton of events were dubious to say with finality but appeared to be accidental more so than deliberate. cheers

There was nothing in the description that suggested it was deliberate handling. The panel also noted that it would have to be seen to determine it for sure.
