When a tackle from behind causes a yellow card?

When it wasn't severe enough to endanger the opponent, but it was more than just a simple trip. In other words, when it is reckless on the "careless/reckless/excessive" scale.

The direction of a tackle although important is not the deciding factor it is in the manner such a tackle is performed, at what speed, the degree of force, how close the ball is,whether the timing was slightly off or way off, body language, position of the legs, excessive swinging of apendages. Any tackle that endangers an opponent in an excessive fashion is a required show of the red card. To only show a yellow and caution for the recklessness of the tackle in its unsavory disreguard for the player or the USB as to its nature in breaking up attacking play requires the referee to have that opinion as to what he percieves the calibre of the challenge to be!

The showing of cards or failure to show cards set standards for the match and the referee's careful use of cards as a management tool can create a calm in a storm, releasing the flow of a match into a vigourous fun filled event or his need to use cards can crush its spirit in a dull drab display of crime and punishment not befitting the beautiful game. The actions of the players ,the tolerance of the referee and the acceptance they all can endure sets fairplay for this day, this match and the effect on all who watch, participate and play! cheers
