RE: comp. High School

aly of West Olive, MI United States asks...

I am reffing U8 AYSO games to raise money for our high school. Do i blow whistle when a team scores a goal and then again to restart? And when there is a quarter break after 12 minutes or so do i have a dropped ball where they left off or have a throw in?
Also how long do U8 AYSO games usually last?

Answer provided by Referee Chuck Fleischer

All of these things are covered in the initial qualification course. They are basic to refereeing and would not be forgotten by the instructor. No, maybe, as appropriate to the stoppage in play, as listed in the AYSO modifications.

Answer provided by Referee Ben Mueller

You need to know these things. CHECK with the referee coordinator. Mr. Fleischer is right...you really need to attend a course to qualify you for this.
