Question Number: 1531

RE: Under 13

norm.carlson of Calgary, Alberta Canada asks...

What is a reasonable length of shift for U13 boys playing competitive indoor soccer? There are usually about 12-14 players available for the game of 50 minutes duration (25 minute halves), with 3 forwards and 2 defense an0d 1 goalie on the field and substitution on the fly.

Answer provided by Referee Lamb

Norm,.Thanks for writing... Indoor leagues vary, especially depending on who owns the arena and the size of the playing pitch. However, I would suspect that 25 minute halves is fairly standard for U-13 Indoor. That is what they play from around where I grew up anyway. Under FIFA, U13,U14 will, however, play 35 minute halves. I hope this helps...
