Question Number: 15337Law 1- The Field 4/30/2007RE: Travel Adult Jeff Gillette of Palmyra, pa USA asks...Dear Sir, Just to clarify...the Penalty Arc is only for PK's to keep the players 10 yds from the ball, this is not an exstension of the Goalie's Penalty Area. In other words...he can not use his hands in the Arc like he can in the Penalty area. Thank you for the clarification so that I can educate others. JG Answer provided by Referee Chuck Fleischer Law 1 - The Field of Play makes this statement:
An arc of a circle with a radius of 9.15 m (10 yds) from each penalty mark is drawn outside the penalty area.
