Question Number: 15811Law 1- The Field 6/17/2007RE: High School of Benin city, Edo Nigeria asks...This question is a follow up to question 15763 what is the thicknes of the lines in a football pitch
Answer provided by Referee Gary Voshol Law 1 says, "All lines are not more than 12 cm (5 ins) wide." The lines are also supposed to be the same width as the goalposts.
Regardless how wide the lines are, the important part is the outermost edge of the line. That point-thin boundary is what really determines in vs. out. The paint is just there to make it easier for us to see that outside edge.
